RBNR Ch22: Losing Control

They walked into the corridor.

The waiter had disappeared, and Qin Bao neither quickened nor slowed his pace, walking side by side with Feng Chengyu.

He wanted to take the initiative, but Feng Chengyu’s confident demeanor made him grind his teeth.

Feng Chengyu was too arrogant. If both of them were interested, why should he be the one to make the first move?

The lighting was dim, and the narrow corridor felt even more cramped with the two adult men walking side by side.

On both sides were private rooms, with small round mirrors hanging on the walls, reflecting the light from the wall lamps. The atmosphere was quiet and ambiguous. The corridor was long, and besides the sound of their footsteps, Qin Bao could hear each other’s breathing and his own heartbeat.

Alone in this narrow space, the Alpha’s pheromones became more noticeable. The scent of daffodil stimulated Qin Bao’s senses, causing the glands on the back of his neck to swell and heat up.

Had he taken a suppressant today?

Mr. Qin had reminded him, but Qin Bao had been very busy since early morning, changing clothes, doing makeup, taking photos, and then greeting guests. He seemed to have indeed forgotten.

The Alpha’s pheromones continued to spread, the scent of daffodil like a small hook, causing Qin Bao to pause and his breathing to become heavy.

He was affected.

The effect of these pheromones was unreasonable.

Qin Bao remembered what Zou Jiudong had mentioned, that high compatibility would lead to attraction. Was his sensitivity to Feng Chengyu’s pheromones also because they had a high compatibility?

Seeing Qin Bao stop, Feng Chengyu also halted.

Observing Qin Bao’s expression, Feng Chengyu quickly realized what was happening, his gaze darkening.

The two of them looked at each other, and Feng Chengyu thought of suggesting he walk ahead to keep some distance. However, he noticed Qin Bao’s forehead was already covered in a fine layer of sweat, and his face flushed, looking like he couldn’t hold on any longer.

Feng Chengyu had no choice but to lightly support his waist to help him stand, “Feeling very uncomfortable?”

The glands swelled even more, almost joyfully, because of Feng Chengyu’s proximity.

Qin Bao felt embarrassed, but his whole body was going soft, “I…”

The always proud swan rarely showed weakness. Feng Chengyu tightened his arm around him slightly, lowering his head to touch Qin Bao’s burning forehead with his own, “Hold on to me.”

Perhaps Qin Bao, affected, unconsciously released pheromones as well, making Feng Chengyu’s breathing become hot.

“Where’s your suppressant?” Feng Chengyu asked him, “I’ll help you get it.”

Qin Bao breathed heavily, their breaths intertwining. He knew what would happen if this continued, but he didn’t step back. Instead, he grabbed Feng Chengyu’s shirt front as instructed, “Seems like I didn’t bring it.”

They looked into each other’s eyes, a silent tension pulling between them.

The surroundings were dark, and not knowing who moved first, their lips were now very close, at most one centimeter away from touching.

Thump, thump.

His heart was beating fast.

Qin Bao’s body slid down again, and Feng Chengyu instinctively held him, their lips brushing, like a strong electric current rushing from their tailbones straight to their scalps.

They both momentarily held their breath, but neither moved away.

Like sparks igniting, no one cared about any restraint anymore.

Their lips and tongues tangled further, and Qin Bao’s whole body was trembling. Feng Chengyu wasn’t much better off, his breathing heavier and deeper, losing control as he pushed Qin Bao against the wall.

Qin Bao felt a sharp pain, letting out a short “Mm” sound, which Feng Chengyu immediately silenced by sealing his lips again, one hand holding the back of Qin Bao’s neck for a deeper kiss.

The kiss deepened, and the ambiguous sound of water stimulated their ears.

…He kissed him.

This fuzzy realization made Qin Bao unsure if it was his body or his mind that was feeling more pleasure. The scene he had fantasized about countless times was playing out for real, and just this thought made every cell in his body scream.

At this moment, Feng Chengyu still had some rationality left. Qin Bao could see his somewhat dark eyes and still calm expression.

But… mess him up, make him fall just as deeply as I am.

This reckless thought surged up again.

Behind him was a room door, the handle pressing into his waist. In the confusion, he pressed down the handle, and as the door opened, they stumbled inside.

“What are you doing?”

Feng Chengyu was panting, his voice hoarse.

The room was completely dark, giving Qin Bao the courage to act recklessly. He turned and pressed against Feng Chengyu, grabbing his collar, forcing him to lower his head again.

Qin Bao’s chest heaved as he said the boldest thing he had ever said, “…Do you dare to forget about the cake?”

Silence fell in the darkness, only their still labored breathing filling the air.

Qin Bao felt ashamed and regretful, “If you don’t dare, then forget it—”

In the darkness, Feng Chengyu looked at Qin Bao for a few seconds, then forcefully grabbed the back of his head, his fingers deeply entangling in his hair.

Qin Bao’s lips hurt.

Feng Chengyu had already lowered his head, covering those soft lips, kissing him even more roughly than before.

Finally losing control.

The Omega’s pheromones mixed with the scent of alcohol filled their mouths, exchanging back and forth, so thick it couldn’t dissipate.

Qin Bao, unwilling to show weakness, trembled as he endured the kiss, violently tearing at Feng Chengyu’s clothes. A button popped off, clattering somewhere with a crisp sound.

“Pop.”

Rationality completely abandoned.

Qin Bao’s hand slid under Feng Chengyu’s shirt, heading straight for the V-line he had fantasized about many times.

*

Dim morning light seeped through the curtains.

Dawn was approaching.

The fireplace was lit by Feng Chengyu in the latter half of the night. By the light of the fire, Qin Bao saw they were lying on a rug, the room a mess, with various items scattered everywhere.

They had broken into a small reception room last night. The room had no bed, just a long sofa that couldn’t accommodate either of them.

Neither was wearing clothes, Qin Bao covered with Feng Chengyu’s black coat. The latter let Qin Bao rest his head on one of his arms, possessively holding him in his arms.

Their legs were still intertwined, warm, with a thin layer of sweat.

Things had gotten out of control last night. Neither had expected to end up rolling in like beasts, going all the way.

But when pheromones tangled, rationality had no say. While Qin Bao was bouncing on Feng Chengyu, he didn’t even realize the Alpha’s canines had already pierced his neck.

The intense Omega pheromones filled the room, a milky scent Qin Bao was reluctant to mention to anyone.

Feng Chengyu’s eyes reddened with excitement, looking as if he wanted to devour the person whole.

In his pain, Qin Bao grabbed the Alpha’s wrist, feeling the watch designed for abstinence, and a secret pleasure arose within him.

… He succeeded.

This thought was more stimulating than anything else, and Qin Bao realized he was even more perverse than the watch.

Feng Chengyu hadn’t woken up yet. Qin Bao lay weak and sore in his arms, unabashedly scrutinizing the body he had touched every part of.

Broad shoulders, beautiful fingers, long legs, slender waist, and even an eight-pack… How did he grow like this? How could his physique be better than any Alpha model he had seen?

His gaze landed on Feng Chengyu’s face, skimming over the superior facial contours, resting on those contentedly sleeping eyes.

He remembered that this person seemed to be an S-grade.

So being exhausted to the point of unconsciousness wasn’t due to his own lack of stamina.

Suddenly, there was a vibration from the coat pocket.

It was Feng Chengyu’s phone again.

It had rung several times since last night, as had Qin Bao’s, but they had been too preoccupied to answer.

Feng Chengyu’s eyelashes trembled, indicating he was awakened by the phone’s vibration.

Qin Bao immediately closed his eyes, pretending to still be asleep.

A few seconds later, he felt his head being gently lifted and then set down as that sturdy arm was withdrawn.

Suddenly, the space beside him was empty—Feng Chengyu had sat up.

Losing his warmth made Qin Bao feel a bit cold, and he couldn’t help but curl his fingers.

Given Feng Chengyu’s status, missing several calls last night was already indulgent. Now, he couldn’t ignore them any longer. Qin Bao heard him lower his voice to answer the call, with the person on the other end seemingly urging him to arrive within an hour.

There was the rustling sound of clothes; Feng Chengyu was getting dressed.

So, he was leaving?

Ditching after satisfaction—what a jerk.

Qin Bao was still angrily sulking when something moist and soft touched his forehead.

Qin Bao: “…”

It was Feng Chengyu’s lips, giving him a good morning kiss.

Unfair.

Feng Chengyu called him softly, his voice filled with post-pleasure magnetism, “Xiao Bao.”

Qin Bao’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly pretended to wake up. When he spoke, his voice almost didn’t sound like his own, and his throat hurt badly, “It’s Qin Bao.”

What “Xiao Bao,” so corny.

Feng Chengyu sat beside him, one hand propping up next to his body, maintaining the posture of having just kissed his forehead, his eyes reflecting the firelight from the fireplace.

Last night, they had exchanged looks like this and looked at each other closely, but it had never been as tender as now.

Intense images flooded in, Qin Bao swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing, and turned his face away.

Feng Chengyu’s thumb brushed his lip corner, “What’s with this?”

After a day and night and all the sweating, even the best concealer should have worn off. But there was only a faint mark there in the first place—what kind of eyes did Feng Chengyu have to notice this?

“A minor injury,” Qin Bao said.

“Did you fight with someone?” Feng Chengyu moved his finger away.

Fighting and being harassed weren’t things to boast about, and Qin Bao didn’t want to answer, so he changed the subject, “Are you leaving?”

“Yes,” Feng Chengyu still looked down at him, no longer asking about the injury, his tone very gentle, “I’ll take you back first.”

Stop being stubborn; you can’t possibly make another trip in an hour.

Qin Bao closed his eyes again and stiffly said, “No need, I’ll go back by myself later. You go ahead, I’ll lie down a bit more. We booked this place for two days, no one’s going to rush me.”

Besides, his whole body ached, and the back of his neck hurt too.

If he got up now, he’d probably fall apart.

Feng Chengyu caressed his face, said “Okay,” and then added, “Next time—”

“Next time what?” Qin Bao interrupted, not knowing whether he felt more embarrassed or annoyed, “I’m busy, I don’t have time for this. And besides, I’m not someone you can just casually date.”

At least be a boyfriend first.

Eyes closed, not looking at Feng Chengyu’s expression.

Qin Bao only felt Feng Chengyu lightly pinch his earlobe, seemingly chuckling, and using a soft, almost coaxing tone, said, “I meant, next time let’s not do it in such a place… Don’t worry, I’m not casual either, I’ll take responsibility. I’ll talk to Grandpa and Uncle Qin.”

After speaking, Feng Chengyu stroked his face and stood up.

Qin Bao felt a weakness in his heart, hurriedly opened his eyes, and saw that the other was only wearing a shirt, so he muttered, “Your coat.”

In this weather, going out in just a shirt would be freezing, right?

His own suit was still on the floor; it wasn’t necessary to cover with someone else’s coat.

“Leave it for you. It’s very cold outside; remember to put it on later.” Feng Chengyu had reverted to his usual composed self, except for a missing button on his shirt, looking no different from when he arrived yesterday, “I have other clothes in the car.”

Qin Bao: “Oh.”

Does he often do this, having so many clothes prepared?

Feng Chengyu stood still, looking deeply at Qin Bao on the floor, seemingly wanting to do something more, but his phone rang again.

“Rest well. I’ll call you later,” Feng Chengyu finally said.

Feng Chengyu hurriedly left, leaving Qin Bao alone in the room. He lay with his eyes closed for a while but couldn’t fall back asleep and had to sit up holding the coat.

His body was truly about to fall apart, and the back of his neck hurt with every movement, making his vision darken.

So this is what it feels like to be bitten.

He could smell the mixed pheromones of milk and daffodil in the room, blending together inseparably, oddly giving his aching body a deep sense of satisfaction.

This was the effect of the temporary marking. During this time, he would carry Feng Chengyu’s mark, temporarily becoming an “Omega with a partner.”

But aside from “I’ll take responsibility,” Feng Chengyu hadn’t said anything else. Moreover, with the clean-up afterward and Qin Bao not being in heat, there was no real sense of responsibility involved.

So their relationship was still undetermined.

Lust clouded Qin Bao’s mind. He gritted his teeth, wondering if he had been hooked again.

Though it wasn’t exactly a loss, he couldn’t help feeling a bit resentful. After all, setting aside the question of whether they would continue seeing each other, he hadn’t even saved the other party’s phone number again.

Damn Feng Chengyu, what did he mean by “I’ll call you later”?

He really wanted to curse.
