After carrying Ao Zai back to the bedroom, Shen Qing then walked over to Duo Duo, who was wearing the little dinosaur onesie.

Earlier, seeing his daddies bring his younger brother back, Gu Duo had very sensibly and proactively stepped aside to clear the doorway so they could enter. Now, he had followed them back inside on his own and was standing by the bed.

The cub was still in a half-asleep, half-awake state right now. With his eyes half-open, the usually calm and composed expression on his face was currently dazed, inexplicably making him look silly and cute. Compared to his usual rational-cub persona, he was much more fragile and soft-looking.

He even yawned right in front of Shen Qing’s face.

Shen Qing couldn’t resist poking the cheek that had recently been fattened up a little bit, and said: “Did Little Duo Duo come out to look for his younger brother?”

Hearing this, Gu Duo yawned and nodded.

He had indeed woken up, not seen his younger brother, and come out to look for him.

He had told Ao Zai before that if he woke up in the middle of the night and needed anything, he should call him, and that a cub shouldn’t sneak out of the room alone.

And Ao Zai had always been very obedient.

He never left the room without permission.

That was why Gu Duo had been so anxious upon waking up and not seeing his brother.

Now, realizing that his brother had just gone to get his robot toy, and had even been brought back by both their daddies… Gu Duo couldn’t quite describe how he felt right now, only that he felt very safe and secure.

—He and Ao Zai had never dared to leave their room without permission before.

But now, they were no longer afraid.

Moreover, it seemed that going out wouldn’t result in any danger anymore.

As if sensing what he was thinking, Shen Qing spoke up again at that moment: “Alright, younger brother is back now. Duo Zai can rest easy, hurry up and go to sleep.”

“En…” Gu Duo nodded again and climbed onto his own little bed.

Previously, when the onesie pajamas had just been delivered, Gu Duo had only tried on the little shark one. Afterward, having very important business to attend to, Young Master Duo had started studying, and Shen Qing hadn’t dared to interrupt him to force him to try on the other styles.

So this was also the first time he had seen Duo Zai dressed up as a little dinosaur.

Right now, Gu Duo had proactively put on the little dinosaur pajamas. The small tail behind him bobbed up and down as he slowly climbed onto the bed, once again making Shen Qing swoon from the cuteness.

When Gu Duo lay down properly, he pulled the small blanket over the cub, and naturally leaned in to plant a kiss on his forehead.

The little dinosaur hood on Gu Duo’s head was baring its fangs in a very silly, adorkable expression.

Paired with the expressionless face of the human cub beneath it, that gap-moe struck once again.

Shen Qing didn’t want to disturb Young Master Duo’s rest any further, but thinking of something, he asked: “Does Duo Duo need to hug a robot to sleep too?”

On the other cub’s bed, the milk-white bunny Ao Zai, who had already climbed back in, was currently straddling his big robot with his little feet kicked up. He was half-lying on his side, half-sprawled over the robot, exposing a short, white little bunny tail.

Gu Huaiyu was currently tucking Ao Zai in.

Shen Qing and Gu Duo both turned their heads to look over there. Duo Duo shook his head, indicating he didn’t need one.

—He was a cub who was almost seven years old now; he didn’t need to ride on things to sleep anymore.

“Alright then.”

Shen Qing patted his head comfortingly and tucked him in completely.

On the other side, with his short little legs draped over his big robot, Ao Zai had also closed his eyes. Exposing his long eyelashes, his voice was soft: “Goodnight, brother. Daddies, goodnight!”

The two daddies didn’t dare make a sound, quietly retreating from the cubs’ room.

After leaving, Shen Qing let out a soft breath. Glancing back, he found that President Gu was right beside him.

!

The romantic, tension-filled atmosphere from earlier suddenly rushed back—just before seeing the little bunny Ao Zai, when Gu Huaiyu had been holding his jaw…

The alcohol having mostly worn off, Shen Qing subconsciously widened his eyes. He couldn’t believe that just by slightly recalling the image of their skin touching a moment ago, a patch of red flushed across his face…

He hurriedly raised his hand and glanced at his watch.

Shen Qing said: “Ah, it’s getting late. I’m going to go change and wash up first!”

Saying that, not even daring to look at the Big Boss, he went thump-thump-thump and ran back to his own playroom.

Because they were both on the second floor, his room was relatively close to the cubs’ bedroom, making it convenient to just head straight there to change and wash up.

Plus, he had a change of clothes in his room. Last time, he had bought many sets of pajamas, so there would never again be a situation where he only had two sets to alternate between, and if the buttons popped on one, he’d have nothing left to wear.

No choice, his main vibe was just being filthy rich.

The most important thing was that if he showered in his own room, the Big Boss could shower in the en-suite bathroom of the third-floor master bedroom. This way, it would save time, since it was already very late…

Shen Qing vanished in a flash.

In the hallway, Gu Huaiyu remained facing the direction the young man had left, silent for a long time, his eyes not blinking once.

After freezing for a long while, he finally moved.

Once again propping his elbow on the wheelchair armrest, Gu Huaiyu raised his hand, his fingertips resting lightly against his own lips, his expression thoughtful.

…Moments ago, the young man had just kissed him, yet now he had returned to his own room alone.

Gu Huaiyu found that he still couldn’t understand this young man.

The only thing he was certain of was that, previously, he hadn’t particularly minded not understanding him.

But now…

Upon realizing this, Gu Huaiyu’s gaze immediately darted to the side, forcibly tearing his eyes away from the direction the young man was in.

Afterward, he steered his wheelchair and returned to the third floor alone.

By the time Shen Qing finished washing up, scrubbing himself clean, and tiptoed back to the third-floor master bedroom, the room had already become pitch-black and gloomy. The curtains were drawn shut and hadn’t been opened.

…Because it was a massive villa, there weren’t really any neighbors around to begin with. Outside the windows was all the greenery of the estate. So unless someone could bypass the bodyguards, climb into their yard—which could rightfully be called a manor—and then climb a tree with binoculars to peep, there was basically no need to worry about anyone seeing anything.

Besides, nobody should be that bored as to come watch how they slept anyway.

So for the past two nights, Shen Qing hadn’t closed the curtains when sleeping.

He liked the panoramic floor-to-ceiling window design of this bedroom; it made him feel like he was right in the middle of a forest.

Moreover, the motorized curtains could be set to close on a timer, ensuring that when the sun rose the next morning, it wouldn’t blind him.

But today, the Big Boss had directly closed the curtains.

Gu Huaiyu seemed to be already asleep.

Wu, Shen Qing had washed rather meticulously just now. After all, when Gu Huaiyu came to pick him up earlier, he had vaguely sensed that the other party didn’t like the smell of alcohol on him.

In contrast, Shen Qing naturally had to wash up a bit more thoroughly, so as not to cause trouble for his roommate.

As for his relationship with the Big Boss…

Just now, while standing under the showerhead blasting water, Shen Qing had basically thought it all through.

He didn’t reject physical contact with Gu Huaiyu, but whether it was out of that kind of romantic liking, or just because he viewed the other party as family, he still wasn’t sure.

But he didn’t need to be sure either.

—They were already legally married and sleeping in the same bed, what was the point of agonizing over all this?

Shen Qing also suddenly realized that his and Gu Huaiyu’s situation was entirely different from the two young people he had eavesdropped on today!

He and the Big Boss had long been living together with a completely legitimate title. There was no third party between them, and there wasn’t even anyone who could shake their respective positions.

So whether it was romantic love or something else didn’t matter at all.

As long as it wasn’t dislike, that was fine.

Secondly… cough cough, given the Big Boss’s physical condition, they couldn’t exactly do anything anyway.

Then there was even less need to agonize!

After all, whether he agonized over it or not, the end result was the same! It was all platonic anyway.

So he just needed to maintain the status quo and treat the other party as his frail, sickly, soon-to-die-but-treats-him-very-well husband with whom he shared a deep, conjugal love!

Sobered up from the alcohol, with a clear head, Shen Qing only felt that he was simply too brilliant. He even felt a little bit that it wasn’t worth it to have wasted half the day agonizing over such a trivial matter.

So they say, the world is fundamentally free of troubles, it’s only the mediocre who bring distress upon themselves.

Having figured all this out, Shen Qing’s footsteps became much lighter.

But he wouldn’t disturb his husband’s rest either. Upon entering the bedroom, Shen Qing automatically lightened and slowed his steps. He was already very familiar with the layout of the bedroom, so even though the lighting was very dim, he was able to smoothly feel his way to his side of the bed, swiftly lift the covers, and stuff himself inside.

The bedroom was quiet.

Without a single sound.

Perhaps due to having drunk alcohol, Shen Qing’s nerves were still a bit excited right now, and he wasn’t sleepy at all.

He lay flat on his back for a short while, but then couldn’t resist propping himself up, lying on his side facing Gu Huaiyu…

Just watching the other party’s handsome profile in the darkness like that.

Planning to look a little longer.

…He wasn’t planning on agonizing over their relationship anymore, but since it was, after all, the first time he had experienced such blatant heart-fluttering, Shen Qing only felt it was novel and exciting.

…For the first time, he really wanted to look at a person more.

Able to forgo sleep—even if it was in the dark, merely looking at the other’s vague outline.

Just smelling the scent on the other person made him feel grounded and secure.

He couldn’t resist wanting to touch him, to burrow into his embrace.

And wanting to kiss him too.

This feeling was really… very strange.

But also inexplicably joyful.

Shen Qing had never had an experience like this before.

And… this feeling had only ever happened with Gu Huaiyu.

His mood right now… felt exactly the same as Ao Zai needing to sneak out late at night to find his little robot and hug it to sleep, or else he wouldn’t feel right…

Except that in Shen Qing’s childhood, he had never felt such intense liking for any particular thing.

Perhaps there were things he liked.

For instance, what boy wouldn’t like toys such as toy cars or game consoles?

He had liked them too.

It was just that, profoundly aware that he had no parents and that his grandparents who raised him were old and had no spare money to buy him the things he liked… he had never opened his mouth to ask.

Afterward, he never spoke about what he liked, either.

Even later, he simply ended up fooling himself, until it became that he had never liked anything at all.

These days… perhaps because life was too carefree, or perhaps because he now had the material qualifications, Shen Qing finally began to bravely admit his likes.

For example, he liked high-spec computers.

—Bought.

He felt driving a sports car paired better with sunglasses, so he directly ordered a pair worth tens of thousands, without even blinking an eye. —Shen Qing also bravely admitted that he simply liked the thrill of spending money.

But he had to point out that all of this was because of the Big Boss!

…Being able to be so wealthy and so free truly had a lot to do with Gu Huaiyu.

For another example, right after receiving the three hundred million in real estate, he had carefully calculated and budgeted. He had considered utilizing them to start his own business, or renting them all out, what price to rent them for, how much money he could recoup each month… fully believing that this way, at least his daily expenses could be guaranteed.

At the start, Shen Qing had a black card in his hand. It was the household allowance the Big Boss had given the original owner.

But since it was called a household allowance, Shen Qing felt too embarrassed to spend it all on himself.

It was only later, when he discovered that he didn’t need to pay for any household expenses at all—no matter what needed buying, the butler would just directly report the expenses to President Gu’s finance department—and after receiving the Big Boss’s very generous and lavish blank cheque, that Shen Qing’s spending gradually opened up.

…Thinking back, he had even seriously compared the housing prices around those properties, pondering what kind of price he should rent them out for… He spent whole hours on it!

But now, the thoroughly salted-fish Shen Qing had long since handed those properties over to an agency. Just casually renting them out, not looking to make a profit, just asking not to waste land resources…

He couldn’t even be bothered to look at how much money they made each month.

He just put all those incomes into a single card. And he felt that, barring any accidents, he would never even need to touch the money in that card.

It was only after experiencing such a complex and lengthy evolution in his concept of money that Shen Qing felt increasingly free, increasingly happy.

These transformations required a process. Even now, Shen Qing would still occasionally penny-pinch.

…But he believed that this bad habit would be corrected sooner or later!

So to sum it up, feeling free and happy, and regaining the ability to like things—it all ultimately stemmed from Gu Huaiyu.

…Damn.

As expected of the person he had ‘Specially Followed’!

Thinking of this, Shen Qing couldn’t help but curl up the corners of his lips. He wriggled happily and rubbed against the blanket, just like Ao Zai hugging his beloved robot.

Until a voice suddenly rang out in the darkness: “What are you shaking for?”

Shen Qing: “?!”

His body went still, his raised lips freezing in place. Shen Qing widened his eyes and looked at Gu Huaiyu opposite him…

Sure enough, in the darkness, the other party had opened his eyes at some unknown point!

Shen Qing: “…You’re not asleep yet, huh.”

His voice sounded a bit guilty.

Maintaining his flat-on-his-back posture, Gu Huaiyu: “How am I supposed to sleep with you shaking like this?”

Shen Qing: “…Sorr—”

“Why did you come back here to sleep?” Gu Huaiyu directly interrupted him.

His voice remained very faint: “…Just to shake me awake?”

Shen Qing: “???…If I don’t come back here to sleep, where am I supposed to sleep?”

“…” In the darkness, Gu Huaiyu suddenly closed his eyes, making no sound.

Shen Qing added: “And I wasn’t shaking that much… It’s probably just that you hadn’t fallen asleep to begin with.”

Jokes aside, this mattress was extremely expensive. For a sky-high-priced mattress like this, the most basic, fundamental feature was that one person tossing and turning wouldn’t affect the other person’s sleep…

Gu Huaiyu: “…”

After a long silence, Gu Huaiyu said in a deep voice: “Go to sleep.”

“Okay,” Shen Qing responded, his lips curling into a smile again as he said, “Goodnight.”

Still lying on his side facing Gu Huaiyu.

“…”

A moment later, Gu Huaiyu opened his eyes again: “…Do you sleep with your eyes open?”

Shen Qing: “?”

He blinked weirdly—Strange, if the Big Boss has his eyes closed, how does he know I have my eyes open?

Having stared at the other person for too long, Shen Qing’s vision was swimming, and he couldn’t even tell if the Big Boss had his eyes open or closed.

He couldn’t help but half-prop his upper body up and lean in Gu Huaiyu’s direction.

As his face drew close to the other’s, his empty hand also reached over. In the end, that hand didn’t touch the other’s face, but was instead directly caught by an icy-cold hand.

…Or rather, imprisoned.

Shen Qing saw clearly this time. Gu Huaiyu’s phoenix eyes were open, looking askance at him as he leaned in. Those dark, heavy pupils seemed to gleam with a gloomy light.

“What are you doing now?” he asked.

Shen Qing: …

Without struggling, his body suddenly slumped down, simply half-sprawling over the other person.

Resting his chin on the other’s firm shoulder, Shen Qing said: “Not doing anything, just wanted to… um, get a little closer to you.”

“…”

After this, Gu Huaiyu suddenly turned to face him.

“What, are you very happy right now?”

“…”

Suddenly lying face-to-face with the Big Boss, Shen Qing’s heartbeat skipped a beat again.

He couldn’t see the other’s features clearly in the darkness, but he could still make out the person’s silhouette. …Gu Huaiyu’s nose bridge was very straight, his eyelids very thin.

His features were sharp and deep, which was why they could be distinguished so clearly.

Quietly tracing the other’s features with his eyes, Shen Qing said: “Yeah, pretty happy.”

But Gu Huaiyu frowned slightly: “Your scent changed.”

“Wu?” Hearing this, Shen Qing deliberately lowered his head to sniff himself, only then realizing: “Oh, I put the strawberry-scented body wash over here. Downstairs in that room, there’s a bottle of lemon-jasmine scented one… It’s also the cubs’ children’s body wash. I secretly took it a couple of days ago, don’t tell them.”

Gu Huaiyu: “…”

After a moment of silence, Gu Huaiyu said: “Then why didn’t you come back to wash?”

Shen Qing: “…It’s inconvenient for the two of us to take turns if I come back to wash. We can go to sleep faster if we wash at the same time… It’s not like we don’t have enough bathrooms; there’s no need to queue up.”

“…”

After another stretch of silence, Gu Huaiyu’s voice drifted over faintly: “We can wash together in the bathroom here, too.”

Shen Qing: “…???”

Widening his eyes again, Shen Qing showed obvious astonishment.

Yet Gu Huaiyu’s deep, hoarse voice rang out clearly: “Having used it so many times, you should know… the shower stall is big enough for two people to stand in.”

Shen Qing: “…”

Wait a minute, why did I start blushing the moment the Big Boss said that!!!

But Gu Huaiyu, seemingly completely oblivious, continued in that richly textured voice: “The bathtub is a two-person one, as well.”

Shen Qing: “…!”

He took a sharp, deep breath.

Because it was so hurried, it made his voice sound a lot like a whimper.

“?” Gu Huaiyu suddenly blinked, also taken aback, then called his name: “…Shen Qing?”

Shen Qing: “…”

Coming back to his senses, Shen Qing suddenly thought about how the Big Boss usually had very strong boundaries—even making him look away just to change clothes. So why was he inviting him to bathe together now…

And perhaps also realizing this issue, Gu Huaiyu suddenly said in a slightly unnatural tone: “What I mean is, the shower stall and the bathtub are separate. We can completely use one each… That way we can wash at the same time.”

Shen Qing: “…Oh.”

Imagining the layout inside, it seemed that really was the case!

Because the bathroom was big enough, it was completely sufficient. As long as neither of them minded…

Shen Qing’s eyes suddenly lit up: “Then let’s try it tomorrow.”

Gu Huaiyu: “…”

He fell into silence once more. It was a long while before Gu Huaiyu spoke again: “You’re very abnormal today.”

He mused: “…Is it because you saw Shen Yuan?”

Shen Qing: “? What does it have to do with him… Oh, right, it does actually have something to do with him.”

Without Shen Yuan, he wouldn’t have even realized that he already had someone he liked… haha.

En, he felt like he could increasingly understand the feeling of Ao Zai hugging his robot to sleep.

The Big Boss’s body temperature was on the lower side, and although he was a bit bony, perhaps because his figure was sufficiently long and slender, he was actually quite comfortable to hug.

The key point was that he smelled really good.

Shen Qing subconsciously rubbed against him again… this time purely because he felt this body pillow was very comfortable.

But his movement caused Gu Huaiyu to freeze completely.

President Gu’s cold, severe voice rang out in the night once more: “So… did Shen Yuan stimulate you into going into heat?”

Shen Qing: “…”

“I told you it has nothing to do with him.”

In the darkness, Shen Qing rolled his eyes without any hesitation and said, “I told you long ago I don’t like him. The person I like now is you!”

“…”

Then Gu Huaiyu fell silent.

The two of them looked at each other silently in the dark.

Even though, aside from the others’ blinking, they couldn’t clearly see each other’s expressions at all.

Shen Qing also didn’t know if the other party believed his words or not.

But he felt it didn’t really matter.

Anyway, being able to hug and kiss him right now, he already feels very satisfied.

Anything more… thinking of Gu Huaiyu’s physical condition, he felt there was actually no need to say anything at all.

Sigh, just live one day at a time.

Shen Qing simply sniffled and leaned closer to Gu Huaiyu’s direction again.

Once again, he rested his head against the other’s shoulder.

“Sleep, go to sleep.” He even gently patted the other’s thin shoulder, just like how he used to coax Duo Zai to sleep back then.

He suddenly thought that, from childhood to adulthood, Gu Huaiyu probably hadn’t had many people whose hearts ached for him. So at least in his final days, he could still be held by him…

“See you in my dreams, remember to miss me.”

Shen Qing finally let out a vague, sleep-talking-like murmur: “Love ya.”

“…”

Being so close, they could no longer see each other’s eyes or outlines.

In the dark, Gu Huaiyu slowly lowered his eyes, only able to see the top of the young man’s head.

The breath near his nose was still that refreshing fruity scent. Even though it had changed to a citrus scent, it felt like the young man was still the same young man… warm, fervent, bright, and radiant.

Seemingly too dazzling and burning to the eyes.

Gu Huaiyu truly closed his eyes.

Even knowing that the young man had drunk too much, and that whatever he said or did didn’t count for anything…

Gu Huaiyu still adjusted their posture, completely gathering the young man into his embrace, and then gave a low response: “En.”

When Shen Qing woke up the next day, he found that his wake-up time had been pushed back again.

—The moment he opened his eyes, it was already past 9 AM!

But last night, before going to sleep, he had chatted with President Gu for a bit, and probably didn’t fall asleep until past eleven, so that wasn’t too outrageous…

But why was his back and waist sore again today?

And he was still sleeping on the side Gu Huaiyu usually slept on! …

Ah, he remembered.

Shen Qing hurriedly scrambled out of bed, practically crawling and tumbling into the en-suite washroom to look in the mirror.

—He was someone with a sweetheart now!

Thinking about how he had actually slept through the whole night, and highly likely squeezed President Gu out of a place to sleep by early morning… Shen Qing experienced a rare desire to pay attention to his image.

After all, he no longer treated the other party as just a good bro, so sometimes he couldn’t be too nonchalant about it…

Fortunately, upon rushing to the mirror to check, his face was still handsome, his skin smooth and flawless, without any eye bags or the like.

It was just that his eyes were slightly swollen, and the ahoge on top of his head was very stubborn… but the flaws didn’t obscure the virtues, he was still a handsome guy.

Immensely satisfied, he washed up and changed into a slightly more formal set of loungewear… Okay, he really needed to go buy clothes. If worst comes to worst, shopping online first was fine too. Otherwise, it would just be those same few pieces every day…

It wasn’t like his husband didn’t have money!

Even though he looked good in everything, who wouldn’t want some freshness and novelty?

While changing clothes, Shen Qing picked up his phone and went to the official website of an international brand that delivered. Following his own size, he first ordered a batch…

Ten T-shirts ranging from eight thousand to twelve thousand each, to start. Jeans—oh, the jeans that would make him look even more stylish when worn, give him one of every style first.

And then shoes were also very important! His house was too big, and there were many people coming and going. Normally, everyone didn’t wear slippers, but their own indoor shoes.

He could utilize a lot of little tricks here.

Although the straight-guy Shen Qing had no aesthetic sense, the designers of those international big brands did!

He just bought all the new spring shoes, and would mix and match them after they arrived.

Anyway, the rule remained: whatever he didn’t like or didn’t suit him, he could just donate later.

Having completed this operation and tidied himself up, Shen Qing pushed the door open and left the bedroom.

Today was yet another sunny day. It had already reached the Beginning of Spring; outside, the ice and snow were gradually melting, and the sun was shining brightly.

The moment he pushed the door open, Shen Qing was blinded by the spotless marble tiles in the hallway.

The entire villa was illuminated by the daylight, as if radiating a halo… No one getting up early in the morning and seeing this villa that belonged to them wouldn’t feel refreshed and relaxed.

But today, Shen Qing felt exceptionally cheerful.

At this hour, the cubs and Gu Huaiyu had definitely finished breakfast. Shen Qing wasn’t surprised that the whole villa was very quiet; he guessed they had already gone off to work or study.

The cleaning staff also made no noise while working; their movements were very light.

…As the latest riser in the entire villa, Shen Qing planned to follow his usual routine and first head downstairs to eat the little pig-shaped custard buns Auntie Zhang left for him.

However, he hadn’t taken two steps before Shen Qing passed by the Big Boss’s office and found the door half-open. His husband was sitting inside.

?

His body swayed involuntarily. Without his brain doing any thinking at all, Shen Qing had already moved to Gu Huaiyu’s door.

The person inside heard the noise and immediately looked up sharply.

Meeting each other’s eyes for the first time today through the crack in the door, Shen Qing blinked slightly.

Gu Huaiyu, however, directly raised a hand towards him and said: “Come in.”

The Big Boss told him to go in; he couldn’t very well refuse.

With a smile on his face, Shen Qing pushed the door open and entered.

President Gu’s attire today still leaned formal. A crisp suit jacket over a dark brown artistic-collar sweater—not only did it differ from the rigidity of his usual style, but it also made his complexion look much better, and he appeared slightly more robust…

The Big Boss used to definitely be built like a double-door fridge.

Shen Qing sighed with emotion.

To still have such a great figure even when he’s this thin.

If he had a bit more meat on his bones…

Shen Qing couldn’t help but let his eyes shine brightly.

Under his scrutinizing gaze, Gu Huaiyu’s hand holding the signature pen paused. Looking slightly unnatural, he asked him: “What is it?”

“?”

Shen Qing: “Didn’t you call me in? Why are you asking me what’s the matter?”

Gu Huaiyu: “…”

President Gu’s gaze darted to the side. He simply put down the document and pen in his hand, and looked at the young man again: “Weren’t you peeking at me through the crack in the door first?”

Shen Qing: “…When was I peeking? I was looking openly and honestly! Besides, isn’t your office door usually closed? Why did you leave a crack open today…”

If there hadn’t been this crack, how could he have come over to look!

Shen Qing grumbled. At this moment, Li Hong knocked and entered.

Seeing Shen Qing also in the office, Assistant Li was immediately delighted and said, “President Gu, the renovation team has arrived. Since Madam is here too, please come with me.”

“What renovation team?” Shen Qing was instantly confused. “Where do you want me to go?”

“Ah?” Seeing this reaction, Li Hong was also taken aback. “…Well, didn’t you want to change the wallpaper in your original room, as well as do a complete room makeover, thoroughly transforming it into a luxury playroom…”

“Huh?” This time it was Shen Qing’s turn to be stunned: “When did I ever say…”

Halfway through his sentence, Shen Qing suddenly snapped his head around to look at Gu Huaiyu: “When did I ever say I wanted to renovate the room?!”

“Yesterday, you said you wanted to change the wallpaper, but had just been too lazy to get it done.”

Gu Huaiyu’s voice was calm as he slowly raised his eyes to meet his gaze: “So I found people to do it for you.”

Shen Qing: “…Changing wallpaper and a complete makeover seem to be two different things. I’d have to move all my stuff out…”

He remembered some of the weird clothes, books, and so on belonging to the original owner in that room. He always felt that moving them out from right under President Gu’s nose was a bit dangerous, and a bit awkward…

He shouldn’t have worried blindly about his identity as a latecomer; he should have just dealt with them early on!

Shen Qing deliberately whined: “Aiya, there’s so much stuff in my room… it’s going to be so much trouble…”

Gu Huaiyu: “It doesn’t matter. What this house lacks least is people. Have Tian Yi find someone to help you move them.”

Shen Qing: “But! …A complete makeover will take several days, right? Then where am I supposed to hang out? I still need to play games!”

“The bedroom is big enough. The desk in the outer room can’t hold one computer for you?”

As Gu Huaiyu spoke, he casually picked up a stack of documents and shook them out one by one, his movements broad and sweeping.

He glanced at the young man intermittently and said: “If you still feel there isn’t enough space, I’ll have someone remove all the bookshelves in our bedroom.”

“…That won’t be necessary.”

Shen Qing waved his hands hurriedly, subconsciously still feeling something wasn’t quite right: “But…”

Gu Huaiyu had already spoken up abruptly: “Or, after saying all this, are you actually reluctant to part with that pink room?”

???

Shen Qing took a deep breath: “…Renovate.”

“Start the renovation immediately, without a moment’s delay!”
