FIMA Ch116: The Dog Emperor

However, the very next moment, Gu Siyuan found a dagger pressed against his chest.

He raised an eyebrow slightly. “Oh, an assassin?”

The person in black panted slightly, saying nothing. However, with a surge of internal energy from his hands, Gu Siyuan fell backward uncontrollably, pinned to the dragon bed by the other’s brute force.

Following this, a low, clear shout rang in his ears: “Don’t make a sound, and don’t move. Otherwise, I’ll take your life.”

“…” Gu Siyuan.

Whether it was the command or the posture, this was truly a novel experience.

However, a man under the eaves has no choice but to bow his head.

Gu Siyuan stared into the black-clad figure’s exposed, clear eyes and gave a slight nod. “Alright.”

The masked person in black gave him a deep look before slowly lifting the hand pinning his shoulder, reaching back, and gently closing the wide-open window.

Whether it was the bright moon and cool breeze or the chaotic human voices, everything seemed to be isolated in an instant.

Having done this, the person in black could hold on no longer. He collapsed powerlessly onto Gu Siyuan’s chest, one hand clutching his own chest, the other pulling down his black face mask, gasping for breath with great difficulty.

Gu Siyuan took this opportunity to clearly see the other’s appearance.

This mission target was exceptionally young, perhaps seventeen or eighteen. His features were picturesque, his appearance exceedingly striking. At first glance, he didn’t look like a vicious assassin at all, but rather like the pampered, precious young master of some noble family.

Gu Siyuan lowered his eyes for a moment, his expression unchanged, and asked casually, “You have internal energy; are you from the martial underworld? What are you doing in the palace? Assassinating Wei Zhengping?”

The young assassin raised his head, seemingly only just noticing the clothes he was wearing and realizing his identity. His eyes flickered as he muttered, “Dog… Emperor?”

“…” Gu Siyuan.

Cursing at someone on their very first meeting? What an impolite mission target.

Just then, a burst of intense clamor sounded from outside. Gu Siyuan looked up, his eyes darkening.

Outside the main hall, a high-pitched voice rang out right on cue: “What are you doing? It is late in the night; you must not disturb His Majesty’s rest.”

Following that, a man’s voice laughed loudly: “Isn’t it perfect that he’s resting? We’ll just go in and take a quick look anyway, saving us the trouble of bothering His Majesty.”

In these words, there was absolutely no respect for the monarch.

Gu Siyuan raised his eyelids, looking at the person pressing down on him, and asked leisurely, “Those guys outside are coming in to catch an assassin? It wouldn’t happen to be you, would it?”

“Shut up,” Xie Chenyun glared at him with clear, bright eyes, speaking fiercely.

Consequently, his beautiful brow furrowed, his gaze darting toward the window, seemingly preparing to leap out and leave again.

Just then, Gu Siyuan suddenly raised a hand and grabbed his shoulder, his voice lazy: “Let’s make a deal. I’ll help you get rid of them, and you help me do one small thing.”

Xie Chenyun sharply turned his eyes, looking at the man with hesitation.

What did this dog emperor… mean?

“Then it’s settled.”

Before he could respond, the dog emperor’s voice sounded again.

Outside the bedchamber, the chaotic footsteps drew closer and closer, mixed with the eunuch’s arguing voice.

Xie Chenyun’s heart tightened slightly. He had just suffered a poisonous palm strike from that old thief Wei’s adopted son; he was currently no match for this group.

“From now on, don’t get excited, and don’t make a sound.” Suddenly, a cold instruction sounded in his ear.

Xie Chenyun was about to ask why he would get excited…

Immediately after, he felt a sudden grip on his arm, then his vision spun sharply, and he fell face-down into the soft quilts on the dragon bed.

His expression changed drastically. He was about to subconsciously raise a hand to attack, only to find both of his wrists tightening, pinned down by a warm, large palm. Following this, a weight pressed onto his back—that person had actually pressed directly on top of him.

This posture was not only bizarre but also made him feel extremely insecure. Xie Chenyun’s whole body felt as if it had been scalded by fire, and he only wanted to jump up instantly.

However, the next moment, he heard a faint tearing sound.

Not only was the dog emperor pressing on him, but he also seemed to be taking off his clothes?

“…” Xie Chenyun was shocked to the extreme.

Folk rumors said that the current Son of Heaven of Great Zhou was a lustful, incompetent ruler, indulging in pools of wine and forests of meat, bedding ten women a night.

Who would have guessed that today he’d discover this foolish ruler not only loved beauties, but also favored men?

And in that brief moment of distraction, by the time his thoughts returned, Xie Chenyun suddenly felt a chill on his back.

In this short instant, the clothes on his upper half had actually been completely stripped off.

Xie Chenyun twisted his head back, absolutely furious: “Dog Emperor, you…”

“Shh, don’t speak…” Gu Siyuan’s expression was indifferent as his chilling, deep voice sounded in his ear: “Be obedient, be a little good.”

Xie Chenyun stared blankly.

Then, he watched as Gu Siyuan slightly raised his arm, reaching towards his face.

Since childhood, he had fiercely hated being too close to people. But at this moment, perhaps because this foolish ruler’s expression was too dignified and cold, for some reason, his first reaction wasn’t to swat the hand away, nor to dodge directly, but rather, he helplessly closed his eyes.

His slightly long, curled eyelashes fluttered gently, casting a pitiful and cute fan-shaped shadow beneath his eyes.

Then, Xie Chenyun suddenly felt the hairpiece on his head loosen. His full head of black hair cascaded straight down, falling onto his bare shoulders and back.

He snapped his eyes open.

Gu Siyuan held a hairpin in one hand, toying with it, while simultaneously pulling his own inner robes into disarray. He said faintly, “Turn your head away. Don’t let anyone see your face.”

“Oh…” Xie Chenyun responded in a daze.

Following this, a large, soft quilt was thrown over his head.

Xie Chenyun was completely enveloped in darkness, but his mood suddenly relaxed significantly; this was a unique sense of security brought by the dark.

At this time, the voices outside the hall could be heard getting closer and closer.

That high-pitched eunuch’s voice roared furiously: “You… how brazen!”

But the people who came to search were clearly unable to wait any longer.

“Alright, alright, stop spouting nonsense here and scram quickly. If you delay the search for the assassin, you won’t be able to bear the consequences. Or perhaps you’d like to take a stroll through our Purging Court’s torture chambers?”

As soon as the words ‘Purging Court’s torture chambers’ came out, the outside suddenly went dead silent.

Afterward, there was a creak, and the large doors to the bedchamber were pushed directly open.

However, before that group of people had even stepped over the threshold…

Gu Siyuan sneered coldly. He snatched up the teapot sitting on the low table by the bed and smashed it directly towards the figure at the very front, his tone freezing cold: “Scram!”

The one leading the people in for the inspection was none other than Wei Zhengping’s adopted son, Wei Feng.

He shifted his steps slightly, and the teapot fell at his feet, shattering into pieces. Cupping his hands in greeting, he said, “So Your Majesty hasn’t rested yet?”

Gu Siyuan ignored him completely, only furiously shouting: “Where did this dog slave come from, daring to disturb Zhen’s mood? Tell Wei Zhengping to roll over here immediately and have your entire nine generations executed!”

Wei Feng’s expression darkened.

Dog-shit emperor, he really takes himself seriously.

He directly led his men further inside, but at a glance, he saw Gu Siyuan currently half-propped on the bed, his upper garments disheveled, his breathing slightly heavy, and beneath the bright yellow quilt, a woman seemed to be lying face-down.

Although her exact appearance couldn’t be clearly seen, with long hair cascading like a waterfall down her back, vaguely revealing glimpses of pale skin and that lowered, fragile, slender neck, one could imagine she was an absolute beauty.

This dog emperor was truly a sex-starved ghost. His throne was barely stable, yet he was wholeheartedly indulging in pleasure here.

Wei Feng raised his eyes again, scanning the surroundings.

Although this bedchamber was vast, everything could be taken in at a glance; there was no place to hide a person.

He cupped his hands and said simply, “I have disturbed Your Majesty. This humble official will take his leave.”

Having said that, he led his men and retreated outside.

The Dictation Eunuch, Wang Tan, who walked at the very back, blinked in confusion. Hadn’t His Majesty retired for the night long ago?

Furthermore, he remembered that tonight, His Majesty hadn’t flipped the name tag of any beauty…

Thinking this, he slowly pulled the bedchamber doors closed again.

The candlelight flickered, and the room returned to a dead silence.

“Alright, they’re gone.” From close at hand, a deep male voice sounded.

Xie Chenyun breathed a sigh of relief, slowly raising his head from amidst the bedding.

The next moment, he remembered something, and a blush of shame instantly rose on his fair face.

Gu Siyuan didn’t think too much of it. Seeing him like this, he even reached out with concern to touch him: “What is it, were you buried in the blanket too long and suffocating?”

And with his movement, their bodies pressed even tighter together. As they spoke, their warm breaths practically intertwined.

Xie Chenyun could clearly feel the tall, muscular physique of the person behind him, as well as the unique scent of ambergris belonging to an emperor. His heart suddenly began to beat rapidly, thump-thump.

This foolish ruler was actually quite the expert at this.

His slender white fingers gripped the bedsheets, and he gritted his teeth, saying in a low voice, “Your Majesty, please conduct yourself with dignity.”

Gu Siyuan’s fingers paused in mid-air. He raised an eyebrow, seemingly realizing something.

He naturally wasn’t the type to force things. He turned his wrist downward, sweeping Xie Chenyun’s cascading, smooth black hair to the other side of his shoulder. Then, he calmly got off the man, shifting to the other side of the dragon bed, his movements unhurried.

Xie Chenyun felt the man’s presence moving further away and breathed a slight sigh of relief.

For some reason, when this person got close, he had actually been more nervous than when those searching guards came in just now.

He hurriedly shook his head, stopping his wild thoughts. He reached out and grabbed the clothes that had previously been balled up and stuffed under the blanket, haphazardly pulling them over his body.

Upon closer inspection, however, the slight trembling and fluster in his fingertips were still visible.

Gu Siyuan had one leg stretched out and the other half-bent, his wrist resting on his knee. He sat to the side with a relaxed and calm posture, his gaze unfocused, yet he had no intention of deliberately looking away either.

After all, he had already seen everything there was to see just now.

Only suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the bruising green palm print near the shoulder of the man’s left chest. On this excessively pale skin, it was quite striking.

He lifted his eyelids slightly and asked faintly, “This is the mark of Wei Feng’s Frigid Ice Poisonous Palm. You’re injured and poisoned?”

Xie Chenyun looked up, meeting his pitch-black, deep eyes. He froze for a moment, then immediately tightened the collar of his inner robes with both hands, directly covering the palm print, and shook his head, “No.”

“…” Gu Siyuan.

Why put on the act of a chaste, married woman? Could Zhen actually do anything to you?

And soon.

Facts would prove that casually lying brings karmic retribution.

Gu Siyuan slightly lowered his eyes, watching coldly as this little assassin, whose clothes were only half-worn, collapsed downward, curling into a ball in agony, shivering uncontrollably. His eyebrows and hair even slowly became tinged with a layer of frost, as if he had just been fished out of a thousand-year-old ice cave.

“Cold, so cold…” The little assassin instinctively tugged at the bed’s quilt to wrap around himself, and even more consciously shifted and edged closer to the only nearby heat source.

Gu Siyuan indifferently reached out a hand and firmly pinned down this fellow who was sneakily trying to rub against him, holding down both the person and the blanket.

The little assassin thus became an immobilized silkworm pupa, only able to struggle for survival under the hands of Gu Siyuan, the local tyrant.

Gu Siyuan observed him with great interest for a moment before asking coldly, “Do you have medicine on you?”

The little assassin quickly nodded, looking at the person in front of him pitifully, then slowly shifted his gaze to his outer robe lying off to the side, which he hadn’t yet had time to put on.

Gu Siyuan understood. He immediately reached out his free hand to grope around. There was a hidden pocket inside this outer robe, and he pulled out several small porcelain bottles at once.

He lined them up in a row on his palm, raised his eyes, and asked, “Which one?”

The little assassin leaned against his thigh, managing to open his eyes again, his gaze locked solely onto that black porcelain bottle.

Gu Siyuan understood. He poured out a vermilion pill from inside and brought his palm close to the man’s lips.

However, before he had time to roughly pinch open the man’s lips and forcefully shove the pill in…

He saw the tip of a crimson tongue peek out stealthily from between those frost-whitened lips. It nimbly licked the pill right off Gu Siyuan’s palm, then, with a slight movement of his delicate Adam’s apple, swallowed the pill down.

Gu Siyuan retracted his palm.

Even though this little assassin was terrifyingly cold all over, the tip of his tongue still retained a sliver of warmth.

This vermilion pill seemed to have miraculous effects. Less than a moment after consuming it, the cold aura on the little assassin’s face began to recede. Although his body was still icy, he was no longer trembling uncontrollably.

Seeing this, Gu Siyuan relaxed his arm and mercilessly tossed the person in his arms away.

He looked at the man and asked, “You prepared very thoroughly before entering the palace, even bringing medicine to cure poisonous palm strikes. You’re not here to kill someone; what are you here to do? Could it be to steal something?”

Xie Chenyun lay on his back on the dragon bed, resting for a good while before panting slightly and saying slowly, “Your Majesty, you also don’t completely resemble the legends of the puppet emperor who only lusts after beauty and is held hostage and controlled by Wei Zhengping.”

Wait, no… lusting after beauty might actually be true.

Gu Siyuan let out a low chuckle.

The next moment, his large hand tightly pinched Xie Chenyun’s chin, forcing the man to tilt his head half back and meet his gaze directly. His tone was apathetic: “Insolent. Speaking so disrespectfully, do you perhaps think Zhen won’t condemn you for your crimes?”

The corners of Xie Chenyun’s lips curled up. Staring at the man, he said indifferently, “Since Your Majesty did your utmost to help me evade capture just now, how could you easily take offense over such a trivial matter?”

As he spoke, Xie Chenyun’s face couldn’t help but be tinted with streaks of blush again. That special experience just now, in all his life growing up, was also a first.

Gu Siyuan withdrew the fingers pinching his chin, instead letting his thumb lightly stroke the flesh of his cheek a few times. He nodded with gratification, “Considerably smart, at least. Since that’s the case, Zhen will play the good guy to the end and escort you out of the palace while I’m at it.”

“…” Xie Chenyun narrowed his beautiful eyes.

He couldn’t help but feel that this person’s actions… felt like he was petting a puppy?

Gu Siyuan didn’t pay any more attention to him. After standing up from the dragon bed, he walked straight over to the bookshelf on the right side of the bedchamber, casually rummaging through it. Finally, from inside the thickest tome in the very back, he pulled out a piece of pale yellow silk cloth.

By the candlelight, one could see many tiny words, the size of mosquitoes and flies, embroidered onto it. Compared to normal calligraphy written with a brush, they were much smaller, and thus the content recorded was all the more abundant.

Gu Siyuan flicked both wrists, fully unfurling the silk cloth. His gaze swept meticulously from beginning to end, verifying it back and forth in his mind twice to ensure he had memorized all its contents.

Afterward, he walked over to the tall, standing palace lamp, lifted the shade, and set the silk cloth ablaze against the candlelight.

Xie Chenyun had already stood up from the dragon bed. His clothing was all tidied up properly, and his hairpiece was tied back up again.

He watched Gu Siyuan’s actions, furrowing his brow in some confusion, but he didn’t speak.

Gu Siyuan waited for the silk cloth to completely burn to ash, clapped his hands lightly, and turned his head to look at Xie Chenyun. He said faintly, “Turn around.”

“…” Xie Chenyun was momentarily stunned.

Seeing that he hadn’t moved, Gu Siyuan said indifferently, “It’s fine if you don’t turn around. I’ll consider it paying you back.”

“…” Xie Chenyun was even more confused.

Thus, the very next moment, he watched as the person before him, completely without reservation, stripped off his bright yellow inner robes right in front of his face.

A broad, muscular chest instantly filled his vision.

Xie Chenyun’s head buzzed, and for some reason, he remembered the scene just now of this body pressing down on his own.

Instantly, a crimson flush spread from behind his ears to his entire body, and he whipped his head around as if he had done something wrong.

However, rustling sounds continuously came from behind him, making it not hard to imagine what kind of scenery might be going on back there.

Xie Chenyun’s heartbeat hammered like a drum, his slender white fingers digging tightly into his palms.

He didn’t know how much time had passed.

“We can go.” Only then did a cold, crisp male voice come from behind.

Xie Chenyun slowly turned his head.

Gu Siyuan was already fully dressed; his inner garments had been changed to pure white robes, and on the outside, he wore a casually draped black long robe embroidered with flowing cloud patterns in gold thread, tied at the waist with a luxurious brocade jade belt.

He stood with his hands behind his back, his expression cold and stern, his posture imposing and upright. The night breeze seeping through the window cracks gently ruffled the long hair at his temples, making him look almost divine.

At this moment, the first thought in Xie Chenyun’s mind wasn’t to ask ‘Where are we going?’, but to inwardly ponder: Perhaps the identity of an emperor truly possesses a unique, magical aura.

No matter how foolish, incompetent, and cowardly this dog emperor appeared in the eyes of scholars and commoners normally; or how shamelessly roguish and lecherous he had acted just moments ago—at the very least, at this moment, outwardly, he unexpectedly gave off a majestic presence like the sun in the sky, radiating boundless light with an unstoppable momentum.

Seeing this little assassin spacing out on his own once again, Gu Siyuan asked coldly, “Are you planning to spend the night in the palace?”

Xie Chenyun snapped out of it.

“No.” He hastily shook his head, then asked curiously, “Dog Emper… Your Majesty, dressed like this, are you going to…?”

“…” Gu Siyuan looked at him.

Did he have no manners at all?

Xie Chenyun blinked innocently. “Your Majesty?”

“Call me Brother Gu.” Gu Siyuan couldn’t be bothered to bicker with him anymore and added, “What are you still standing around for? Aren’t you in a hurry to leave the palace?”

Saying that, he took the lead and walked toward the side hall nearby.

Xie Chenyun immediately stepped up to follow. This person seemed to possess a special charm that commanded absolute obedience.

Outside the hall, the night was dark and deep.

There were still people from the Purging Court and imperial guards holding torches everywhere, searching for people.

But with Gu Siyuan leading the way, the two easily bypassed the heavy patrols and arrived at a small garden near the palace walls.

“You arranged to meet here?”

Xie Chenyun nodded. Bringing his bent fingers to his mouth, he softly blew a whistle—two short, one long.

Next, with a few faint sounds of rustling branches and leaves, two tall figures appeared before them.

Seeing that two people had arrived, Tang Sheng and Situ Feng were momentarily startled, their gazes then turning vigilant. “What’s going on? Why is there an extra person?”

Xie Chenyun immediately stepped forward to explain, “This is my good friend. I called him over earlier to help us fight. He entered the temporary palace even earlier than we did.”

Tang Sheng and Situ Feng furrowed their brows.

Xie Chenyun said directly, “I’ve got the antidote. Let’s get out of here before we talk!”

Just then, a squad of imperial guards was heading their way, so the group had no way to continue the conversation.

Tang Sheng and Situ Feng utilized their respective movement techniques, using the wall for leverage to leap outward.

Xie Chenyun was also about to move, but the next moment, his sleeve was tugged.

He turned his eyes, looking at the person beside him in confusion.

Then, he watched as this mortal emperor of boundless majesty, noble and cold, parted his thin lips slightly, silently mouthing a few large words:

Take me with you. I don’t know martial arts.

“…” Xie Chenyun.

Old Gu expresses: Zhen merely doesn’t know martial arts temporarily. The peerless mental cultivation method has already been memorized; mastering it is just a matter of minutes…
